The Google Free Flagship By Huawei – the P40 Pro

 February 23, 2022

The Huawei P40 Pro has a gorgeous look, a lengthy battery life, and one of the best phone cameras we’ve ever seen. The Huawei P40 Pro is a near-perfection of the Huawei P30 Pro’s blueprint. It takes the camera, which is the P series’ major focus, and innovates in a huge manner — literally. The P40 Pro has a lot to offer, including a large camera sensor, a 90 Hz screen, and improved internals.

However, because Huawei is banned in the United States, the phone lacks Google Mobile Services, which means it can’t access popular Android apps like the Google Play Store, YouTube, Gmail, and a slew of others.

Nevertheless, let’s take a look at the best features that this flagship phone has to offer.

Design

Huawei has never released a phone that looks as good as this one. It feels premium in the hand and is made of materials that are similar to those found in other high-end phones on the market today.

The Huawei P40 Pro includes a curved glass on all four corners, which Huawei refers to as a “Quad-curve Overflow Display.” We’ve seen curved sides on phones before, but the Huawei P40 Pro also has curved top and bottom edges.

Display

The Huawei P40 Pro’s 6.58-inch screen has a resolution of 1200 x 2640 pixels, which amounts to a pixel density of 441ppi, which is slightly lower than several other brands’ current flagships.

This is Huawei’s first smartphone featuring a screen with a high refresh rate. The P40 Pro, like the OnePlus 7T from last year, has a 90Hz display with an unusually tall resolution of 2,640 x 1,200 pixels.

End Note

When it comes to color performance, the P40 Pro offers two options: Normal and Vivid. Normal setting provides a more muted palette with 96 percent of the sRGB color spectrum. Vivid mode, which covers 84 percent of the DCI-P3 color palette, is ideal for watching movies or TV.

Hardware specs

The Huawei P40 Pro is powered by the same Kirin 990 5G chipset seen in Huawei’s Mate 30 Pro 5G and Mate XS folding phone, and it’s quick enough to keep up with rival brands’ latest flagship phones.

The Huawei processor is paired with 8GB of RAM, and it’s worth noting that there is no option for 12GB of RAM. Internal storage options include 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB, which can be expanded with microSD cards up to 256GB.

The Kirin 990, Huawei’s fastest smartphone chipset, powers the P40 Pro. This is a new eight-core processor with three groups of cores manufactured utilising a 7nm fabrication technique. Two Cortex-A76 performance cores operating at 2.86GHz, two Cortex-A55 mid-power cores running at 2.36GHz, and four Cortex-A55 cores running at 1.95GHz

Battery

The Huawei P40 Pro comes with a 4,200mAh battery that performs admirably. The P40 Pro’s processor has been well-optimized for power management, guaranteeing that the phone will easily last a full day with moderate use.

The charger that comes with the P40 Pro enables 40W rapid charging. It can also be charged wirelessly, and it supports quick reverse-wireless charging, allowing you to share your phone’s battery with other wirelessly charging items like headphones or another phone.

Footnote

The Huawei P40 Pro’s primary drawback is its restricted app selection. As more alternative alternatives are added to the Huawei App Gallery, this is just going to grow better. Therefore, for the time being, buy it if you are looking for a smartphone with a premium design, phenomenal camera and great battery life.
